Our history
In June 2001, Ricky Holmström, Hofpartner’s founder, sent the very first quotation to Ortivus AB in Stockholm concerning a three-month design order. At this time, the name of the company was Holmström Engineering.
It didn’t take long until orders started to come in and Ricky contacted his childhood friend Jerker Fjellman. Together, they started Hofpartner AB which stands for Holmström and Fjellman Partner AB.
In July 2006, the company was an engineering company that sold design, subcontracting and custom machines. In July 2006 AMAL-SHAFT® was acquired, the strong trademark with a fifty-year-old history. Five key employees at the previous manufacturer were offered a position and followed to Hofpartner.
In May 2007, Ricky acquired all shares in the company and intensified the focus on core shafts. One year later, Ricky invented the smart lifting equipment Liongrip®. The market for lifting devices has developed considerably and Liongrip has been sold as far away as to Australia.
We acquired the premises we have been in since the start in 2012 and the following year, we expanded the production part. In 2014, close cooperation with Schlumpf Scandinavia AB was initiated and today we are manufacturers of their different core shafts.
2016, we made our largest investment so far, when we acquired a four-axis lathe which can handle up to five meters turning length.
We have been growing steadily since 2008 and are continuously investing in developing Hofpartner AB into a company of the highest class.
